Our Family Business
Keith Zivalich, father of three, came up with the idea for the weighted blanket in 1997 when his daughter placed a beanie baby on his shoulder. He instantly noticed how calming the pressure felt and wanted to make an entire blanket with the same deep pressure feeling. His wife, Lynda, sewed many prototypes until they found the perfect design. Their family business has been making weighted blankets ever since, and has been using the same Los Angeles factory for 21 years.

Reduce Anxiety & Stress
The Magic Blanket uses the magical power of "deep touch pressure stimulation" to mimic the feeling of being hugged or squeezed (why it's called the blanket that hugs you back!). DPT has been scientifically proven to increase serotonin and melatonin, the hormones responsible for relaxation. So, sleep better with a hug!
Unlike many of the newer cheap weighted blankets that are massed produced in China, our Magic Blankets come with the duvet cover securely attached. That means there is no duvet cover to reassemble every time you wash it. That also means the entire Magic Blanket is machine washable AND machine dry-able. Read more here about the problems with removable duvet covers.
We are extremely proud to make our weighted blankets in America. By doing this we are not only employing fellow Americans, but we get to take a stand against unfair labor laws overseas. We are proud to be American and, to show our pride, we donate blankets to veterans with PTSD.

Donating to our veterans
One of the joys of having a successful small business is being able to donate to those in need. Weighted Blankets have been shown to help calm those with PTSD. We have partnered with a non-profit organization "Friends of Ward 8" to donate a certain amount of Magic Blankets every month. As long as we are in business we will continue to help those who need it most.
